“Har Ghar Tiranga” is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Through this campaign, the prime minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi has urged the nation’s people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it on the rooftop of their homes. Citizens have felt connected to the Tiranga in a more formal and institutional way rather than having a personal attachment. So, vision of the honorable prime minister behind the campaign is to seed the personal connection between people and their national flag.
The nation is all set to celebrate its 75th independence day. My dear countrymen, today we started our discussion on 75 years of Independence, with a visit across the country. The next time we meet, the journey of our next 25 years would have already begun. We all have to join for our beloved tricolour to be hoisted at our homes and those of our loved ones. Do share with me how you celebrated Independence Day, if you did anything special, this time. Next time, we will talk again about the different colours of our Amrit Parv. Till then, I take leave of you. Thank you very much.
Moreover, on 2nd August, the birth anniversary of Pingali Venkhaiya, who designed the national flag, Narendra Modi changed his social media handle profile picture to Tricolor. The act was to give tribute to Mr. Venkhaiya. Through his tweet, the prime minister urged people to do the same. The tweet stated, “It is a special 2nd August today! At a time when we are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, our nation is all set for #HarGharTiranga, a collective movement to celebrate our Tricolor. I have changed the DP on my social media pages and urge you all to do the same”.
The tweet further stated,
I pay homage to the great Pingali Venkayya on his birth anniversary. Our nation will forever be indebted to him for his efforts of giving us the Tricolour, which we are very proud of. Taking strength and inspiration from the Tricolour, may we keep working for national progress.
