Talk about remunerative decisions!
Streaming giant Spotify, a standard-bearer in all things audio unceasingly, aims at devising new approaches to serve unique experiences that users love. The company has never faced a shortage of remarkable ideas, which proved accurate in the recent proclamation on Monday divulging the acquisition of a London-based tech company called Sonantic.
Sonantic is a pundit in AI that works to stunningly replicate and imitate human voices from the text. With this integration, Spotify believes that the company will be able to improve personalized user experience by unlocking new potential through AI implementation. In “Top Gun: Maverick,” the company’s technology brought Val Kilmer’s voice to life through artificial intelligence to provide realistic voice services for gaming and entertainment contexts.
The businesses are not revealing the details of the agreement. Sonantic had secured less than $3 million from a diverse set of investors, including Kevin Lin of Twitch, Entrepreneur First (EF), AME Cloud Ventures, EQT Ventures, and Bart Swanson of Horizons Ventures, Jeremy Jap, Charles Jolley, and others.
Vice president of Personalisation at Spotify Ziad Sultan expressed his enthusiasm through his latest statement on the acquisition,
"We're really excited about the potential to bring Sonatic's AI voice technology onto the Spotify platform and create new experiences for our users"
He added,
"This integration will enable us to engage users in a new and even more personalized way"
Through their latest statement, “This voice technology could allow us to give context to users about upcoming recommendations when they aren’t looking at their screens. Using voice in these moments can reduce barriers to creating new audio experiences—and open up the doors to even more opportunities’ Spotify claims to have discovered collective opportunities regarding text-to-speech technology. Given how much the company is stoked about the idea, the collaboration will take the edge off barriers to creating new audio experiences.
